Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to her real name as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. It was her parents after the town where her birthplace was. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father had an ethnically Jewish heritage. She is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved along with her family in Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family was in a house that didn't have electricity. No televisions were Ryder's only distraction to pass the time. Eventually, she was a voracious reader. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 in the year she turned 12. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the movie Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder suffered from bullying at her high school. Ryder hoped her career as a performer would bring about change. It wasn't to be. However, she continued to pursue the goals she had set for herself. In 1988 she had her first big breakthrough in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder had a successful role in various films. Two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
